Interruptions are poison to the brain.

You may say that you have no way to avoid interruptions, and it is absolutely true that it is hard, but you must find a way. Just find a way. Switch of your phone, close outlook for a while, switch of the desktop while you are reviewing documents on paper in order not to get distracted by email and messenger notifications. Go sit in a meeting room all by yourself if you have to work on a complicated task. Put your messenger status "do not disturb" or switch off the messenger all together. Deviate your phone to the reception, a colleague or to voicemail. Put on your noise cancelling headphones and openly ask your colleagues not to disturb you for one hour. If they get distracted as much as you do, then they will understand. They might even be thankful for being able to speak about the problem openly. If they leave you alone for an hour, it means that they will be able to do ask you the same favour next time. Win-win.

Once you have done this, you are ready to dive into the flow.
