I have worked as a lawyer in the investment funds team of an international law firm for many years. I am now an in-house counsel in an international management company. On a day-to-day basis, I am dealing with colleagues and clients from all over the world. The lessons I want to share with you come from an office world; hours and hours spend at the desk, reading and drafting emails, reviewing and drafting agreements and attending endless conference calls.
I should also mention that I live in Luxembourg, a country with:
· with three official languages (Luxembourg, German and French);
· where nearly half the residents are foreign nationals;
· where nearly half the working force lives abroad and commutes every day across the board.
This information will be important when reading certain chapters (e.g. the one regarding languages).
